• My spouse rides but I’ve never ridden, or I am a real beginner is this a problem?
No problem! Great instruction by teaching professionals on gentle school horses. Our instructors are highly skilled at appraising your abilities and needs and then tailoring a program specifically for you. We find that by the end of your visit even complete beginners are confident and prideful in their accomplishment.
  • I don’t want to ride at all. What is there for me to do?
No problem! You have come to the most interesting and beautiful part of New Mexico. High mountains and abundant wildlife surround the ranch. It is not unusual to see one hundred head of elk grazing in the ranch pastures.

If you like to sightsee, the area is rich in history of the old west. Names like Billy the Kid, Buffalo Bill, Kit Carson and Jessie James were frequent visitors to the local hotels of Cimarron.

Perhaps you like shopping; two of the oldest settlements in the west have become world famous for shopping; Taos and Santa Fe. Art galleries boutiques and museums abound. Taos has the Kit Carson home and the Taos Indian pueblo. See the Indians live the way they have for hundreds of years!

  • What am I to do if l don’t want to sight-see or shop?
No problem! You can walk along the stream that runs a mile and a half through the ranch. Sit under a tree and watch the horses, birds, and other animals in their natural setting; or perhaps read a good book curled up in the lodges 2nd floor balcony and watch the action below where others are riding and taking lessons.
  • We want complete privacy, exclusivity, and VIP treatment, is this possible?
Yes. We excel in this department. Call to discuss details.
  • Do you have phones and computers?
Yes, even the cell phone works, but we are confident that you will shut it off by day two!
  • What about the food?
Our guests love it! Home cooked meals, and lots of it! If you have special dietary requirements, no problem. Let us know and the cook can make special arrangements.
  • What if we want to golf fish, and white water raft?
Located fifteen minutes from the ranch are two golf courses open to the public. Fishing is world class. You can either fish Eagle Nest lake or try your hand on the many rivers and streams  nearby. Fisherman come from all over, to fish these waters. Rafting arrangements down the Rio Grand River through the Taos box is also available.
  • What can we do at night after  the day’s activities?
The 2000 sq-ft. lodge has as a pool and Ping-Pong table. A variety of board games, chess or checkers or curl up on the couch and watch one of the many movies available. For the night owls, dancing to live music is 20 min away in the quaint mountain town of Red River. Certain packages include a cowboy balladeer around the campfire.
